We continued to plan for the Rube Goldberg competition and began primary construction of the machine in late January 1993. The goal of this competition is to complete a simple task through a complex machine, consisting of at least 20 steps. This years task was to "screw in a light bulb". Struggling to the final second of the competition, we produced the winning machine at the national. This vistory opened several doors for our fraternity. We gained not only campus recognition, but international spotlight. Some of the highlights were a scheduled appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, CBS Up To The Minute, CNN Headline News and hundreds of other international periodicals news coverage.
At this time our petition for chapter status began to form. We began to write and organize our petition for chapter status. Moreover, we saw another change in the executive board. Christopher Gerard was elected President and the recently initiated Nick Croce was elected Vice President. Continuing to forge ahead, we began plans for defending our Rube Goldberg title. A very active Vice-President, Nick Croce, took the responsibility of Chairman. The entire fraternity worked very hard to accomplish both of these tasks and in January 1994, our petition for Chapter Status was completed and mailed to the Central Office. Once complete, the fraternity, now sitting on pins and needles for the results of the petition, began work on the Rube Golberg machine.

During this time, we saw the initiation ofa new executive board. Nicholas Croce advanced to the President, Christopher Ashline elected Vice-President, Maria Meyer as Scribe, Ronald Koenig as Treasurer, and April Williams as Corresponding Secretary.

On March 26, 1994 the hard work and dedication of the Colony showed its true colors. We were once again announced to be the Rube Goldberg Champions. With our second consecutive victory, we were swarmed with media attention, as well as Campus Praise. Some of the dozens of television appearances were, Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, Inside Edition, Worlds of Wonder, CNN Headline News, CBS Up To The Minute and many others. As thanks, the University granted us the construction of a new office and many similar benefits, which were greatly appreciated.
